We turned 8!
We're growing at record speeds!
In 2025 we collected an all-time high of reports.
Our database doubled in reports in the last 2 years.
We collected about TWICE the reports of 2023.
By the end of 2025, our database has collected over 110,000 bike lane obstructions.
Tech Updates
We rebuilt our entire tech stack to handle growth.
We released 5 app updates in 2025 to make it easier for users to report bike lane obstructions, including:
Autofilling license plate state & number fields.
Autofilling the metro city field.
Remembering the last city you reported from.
We added +2,000 cities to our drop-downs. That's a +1,520% increase.
We added +2,000 city filters to our maps. That's a +2,000% increase.
We continued to develop our Uprise platform.
The more data we collect nationally, the more we’re able to do with that data on a national level.
We Built & Launched a Driver Training Course for Companies with Fleet Drivers
In 2025 we launched our new driver's training certification. course titled: Driving with Bicyclists in Mind: "The Fleet Driver’s Guide to Driving Smart, Safe, & Legal"
Big Data Audit
Big Data Audit: Bicyclist Fatalities - Investigating USDOT-Registered Carriers, City of Chicago Contracts, Insurance Providers, and Bike Lane Uprising Reports.
The goal of this study is to identify patterns of high-risk carriers and to prevent future crashes and fatalities. We began this audit focused on Illinois-based data and we plan to expand this audit nationally.
Â
What the Project Investigated USDOT Carriers:
Â
USDOT Carriers: Which Illinois-based carriers (trucks/buses) registered with the Department of Transportation were involved in bike crashes/fatalities?
Which crashes and fatalities involved a carrier also reported to Bike Lane Uprising for obstructing bike lanes
City Contracts: What percentage of these high-risk carriers are vendors for the City of Chicago? How many contracts do they have, what are they for, and their value?
Insurance providers: Who insures these high-risk carriers?
Crash Patterns: Analyzing crash locations, frequency, environmental and behavioral factors of carriers most at risk of being involved in a crash/fatality with a bicyclist.
Ambassador Program
In 2025 we launched our Ambassador program. This program is for bike folks across the US and Canada to learn ways to grow Bike Lane Uprising data and advocacy impacts in their own community.
Advocacy Cohort
In 2025 we ran our second Advocacy Cohort. This Advocacy Cohort is a 5 week intensive mini MBA for leaders of bike advocacy orgs.
We will be continuing our monthly check-ins with graduates from Cohort 1 and 2 but we're going to pause the Cohort for 2026. For folks interested in our Advocacy Cohort, we recommend applying for our Ambassador program in the meantime.
Bike Light Giveaways
Over 7,000 sets of bike lights have now been funded through our platform. These lights have been funded one by one by people like yourself and given out in the streets to people who need them.
In full transparency, giving has slowed down dramatically. We're out of bike lights to give out and struggling to get the next batch of bike lights funded.
Ghost Bikes
We continued to maintain our previously installed Ghost Bike memorials around Chicago and support families to host vigils and install new Ghost Bikes for their loved ones.
We Redesigned Our Reflective Jackets
And they immediately sold out! We kicked off manufacturing a second batch of jackets with the new design. We expect the second batch of jackets to begin shipping out to customers mid to late February. Updates will be listed on the product page as they become available.
We also launched a program for jackets to be sponsored for people in need, similar to our bike light giveaway programs.
We Held Events in at Least 9 Cities: In-person & Virtually
Des Moines, IA
Nashville, TN
Bowling Green, KY
Louisville, KY
Columbus, OH
Chicago, IL
Minneapolis, MN
Detroit, MI
Denver, CO
Let is know if you would like to host an event with us.
Our work was connected to big projects

Here are our priorities for 2026:
This year we'd like to get out and about and do more presentations across the US and Canada. Message us if you would like to host an event with us.
In 2026 we would like to bring on more retailers of our merch. Drop us a line if you're a bike shop owner and interested supporting our work by carrying our merch at your shop.
Grow our Bike Light Giveaway programs, as well as our Buy 1 Sponsor 1, and Bulk Bike Light Sales programs. Learn more here.
Legal Notices This year we're going to be working out ways to systematically send legal notices to companies reported to our database. The goal of the legal notice is to informing companies they've been added to a national registry of bike lane obstructers. Should that company be involved in a crash or fatality with a bicyclist, our data would be available for court cases to highlight the company would operating in bad faith allowing plaintiffs to seek larger judgements.
